As for the discontinued version of logic: I recall it didn't work with more than 512 MB. Good luck! Btw: everything was better back in the early days. And this is where we are now, so don't tell me you got it hard! So if you want to run logic on your Windows PC, downgrade the RAM to 512 MB, downgrade Windows to XP (Vista in XP compatability mode works too, from what I've heard) and then, on some obscure sites, you have to dig for OxyGen's logic 5.5.1. Than the war was over, we got jobs and just before getting kids we where able to buy a used macbook (fascists!) and logic for 180€ (fascists!). The RAM probably! We where young and poor but happy that a last ableton and cubase still worked, although it never was the same.

I guess most of us kept OxyGen's "software update" on logic on their PCs for quite some time, untill the last PC got upgraded to 1 GB RAM, which wasn't supported by the software any more, but I digress) for quite some time, untill it eventually didn't work any more, I don't know why, exactly.
